Veteran Nonprofits & VSOs

Marketing for the organizations that serve veterans.

You exist to serve veterans and their families. We make sure the people you serve, and the people who fund you, can find you, trust you, and act.

Sound familiar?

Mission-driven teams are stretched thin. These are the patterns we see most often.

Too many messages

Programs, events, and asks all compete for attention, so supporters don't know what you stand for first.

Marketing lives with one person

Everything depends on a volunteer or a single staff member, and nothing is written down.

Events that don't compound

The gala raises money, then the momentum disappears until next year.

Hard to prove impact

The board asks what marketing is producing, and there's no clear answer.

How we help.

Strategy first, then the campaigns and systems that carry it.

Message & brand

  • One clear message every spokesperson can carry
  • Brand systems for parent organizations and their programs
  • Donor, member, and veteran audience mapping

Campaigns & media

  • Galas, giving days, and awareness campaigns
  • Earned media and press releases for advocacy moments
  • Email, social, and paid promotion tied to one plan

Systems & leadership

  • CRM and donor journey setup
  • AI with guardrails, where it saves your team time
  • Staff and volunteer training
  • Fractional marketing leadership and board reporting

Work in the veteran space.

We've worked inside the associations, advocacy groups, and partnerships that serve the military community.

After working with KMC Digital for a number of years, I am personally impressed with the creativeness and ingenuity in accomplishing our objectives in a timely and expert fashion. Requests for graphics and/or social media outreach are quickly dealt with and professionally provided. As our association is supportive of the Uniformed Services, we need to be responsive 24/7 — so is KMC Digital. There is not much more that a client could hope for.

Questions.

Straight answers before you apply.

Do you only work with large national organizations?

No. We work with national advocacy groups, associations, foundations, and smaller community nonprofits. The audit tells us what your organization needs; size just changes the scope.

We already have a volunteer or part-time person running social. Do we still need you?

Probably not to replace them. Most of our nonprofit work is giving the people you already have a clear message, a plan, and a system, then leading the parts that need senior experience.

Can you help with our gala or giving day?

Yes. Event and fundraising campaigns are a core part of what we do, from sponsor packages and promotion to media relations and the stewardship that follows.

How do you use AI with a veteran audience?

Carefully. We use AI for the work behind the scenes, such as drafting, organizing data, and routing inquiries, and we keep a person in every moment where a veteran or family needs a person.

Can you handle press and public affairs?

Yes. Kalen is a former military public affairs officer who has escorted national media in a combat zone. We run earned media, press releases, and spokesperson preparation for advocacy and policy moments.
